Tips
Binding off
You always bind off in pattern -- ribbing, seed stitch,
stockentte st, etc. Work the first two stitches. Lift the
first one worked over the second and drop it off the end
of the needle. Work another stitch and lift the first st
on the right needle over the one just worked and drop it
off the end of the needle. When you are down to one loop
on the right needle pull the loop up to about six inches
and cut it in the center. Pull the ball yarn out and your
stitch is locked. Do not pull the ball yarn through the
loop before cutting, that makes an extra nub at the end
of the row.
If you are binding off
within the pattern - neck line or under arm etc,- you
only count the stitches you actually drop off the end of
the needle. The remaining stitch on the right needle is
counted with the rest of the working stitches.
If you are knitting left handed (not continental) just
substitute left for right in the above directions.
