2 sc in next ch 2 loop* Repeat form * four times. Fasten

FLOWERS: Make 5 for each posy. *Ch 4, 3 dc in first st of
ch 4, ch 3, sl st in same st* four times, sl st at base
of first petal (starting st). Cut threads 6" from
work, pull through loop tightly, thread to a needle and
fasten securely on the back of first petal. Arrange 5
posies as desired to fit around top of each muff. Tack 5
together into a straight row. Use strong sewing thread
and work form back with neat over and over stitches,
going through second dc of petals. Steam - press- tack
ends to form ring. Tack into scallops of muff, working on
wrong sides. The ones I have are assorted colors - the
base and sides of the muff are the same color, the
petals are assorted colors. It looks like the yarn used
was small - probably sport weight. I have no idea what
size crochet hook. You will have to try the pattern. The
base should fit the bottom of the glass used. That will
probably be the best way to decide on the size crochet
hook. The was well and go with the glass when the person
moves around. Thus they are easier to use than a coaster.
************************
The original pattern is from Mrs. D. W. Morehouse, and
given to me by Frances Glomset. I used Saucy Sport (red)
and a C hook. I put buttons (holly leaves) on the shop
model in order to get it out for customers to see. I will
put the flowers on eventually. It came out a little big
(I crochet loose) for an eight ounce glass. I worked a
little elastic around the
top under the scallops, makes it a little more ruffled. I
will try the next one with #10 Cebelia.
