Becky Bytes "Six Hour Sweater"


Instructions:
This is the pattern Becky has so generously shared with all of us. It is with her permission that I am posting it here for everyone to copy
Sizes 8-10, (12-14), (16-18)
Materials: 3(4,5) sks. Mohair
1 pr. ea #8, #13, #15 needles
4 markers


Gauge: 3 stitches=1" 4rows=1"


Pattern stitch: Row 1: Knit 4, purl 1, *:knit 3, purl 1, repeat from*across, end knit 2
Row 2: Purl 2, *knit 1, purl 3, repeat from*across, end knit 1, purl 4
BACK: With size 8 needles, Cast on 51(55-59) stitches. Work in ribbing K1-P1 for 3 inches.
Change to size 13 needles, work in pattern until piece measures 12 inches, or desired length.
Place marker at each end for start of armhole. Continue in pattern for 7-1/2 inches from
markers. Change to #8 needles and work K1-P1 ribbing for 2 inches. Bind off loosely in
ribbing.
FRONT: Work same as back. Sew shoulders together about 1-1/2 inches each side. Leave
sides open.
SLEEVES: With #15 needles and right side of sweater facing you, start at marker and pick up
63(67-71) stitches along armhole to other marker. Work in pattern until 6 inches, or desired
length. On last row, knit 2 together across row. Change to #8 needles and work ribbing K1-P1
for 2 inches(cuff). Bind off loosely in ribbing. Sew sides and sleeves together.
