Newborn Baby Hat

Instructions:
1 skein baby yarn, 7 st. to the inch
#3 Needles
for a little larger hat,
1 skein of DK 5.5 st. to the inch
#5 Needles

Cast on 79 (99) stitches, loosely-k1 p1 rib for seven rows
Rows 8 thru 15 stockinette stitch - knit row 8 (knit side-RS)
Rows 16 thru 23 stockinette stitch - purl row 16 (purl side-RS)
Repeat rows 8 through 23 twice.
Run yarn through all stitches on the needle twice. Draw up and fasten.
Add pompon.
